Hello World

Every personal site starts with a post explaining why the site exists, which is a little like introducing yourself by describing your own handshake. So I'll keep it short: I build things that are easy for people and machines to understand, and this site is the smallest honest example I could ship.

Why plain HTML

There's no framework here. No build step, no bundler, no fourteen megabytes of JavaScript to render nine hundred words. You can open these files in a text editor in 2036 and they will still work, which is more than most of my old projects can say.

That isn't nostalgia. It's the same instinct that made me decent at incident response: the fewer moving parts a system has, the fewer ways it can wake you up at 3 a.m.

Complexity is a loan. You always pay it back, usually at the worst possible hour.

Structure machines can read

AI answer engines don't rank you, they read you. They pull the page apart looking for what it claims and whether it's worth repeating. Semantic headings, real <article> tags, dates a parser can handle, structured data that matches the words on the page — that's not SEO trickery, it's just refusing to make the reader guess.

The funny part is that all of it also helps humans. Nobody has ever complained that a page was too clearly organized.
